No such thing as a stupid question
At the first session of the lecture series in biology, the professor was dicsussng what to expect. After
outlining the material to be covered, he digressed ... and spent a few minutes on the nature of learning.
He stressed the great importance in keeping one's mind active. To this ends, there is nothing better then
to question. For after all, as a rule, there is no such thing as a stupid question.
He then returned to the more mundane topic of grading policy. After a minute or so of this, a voice
from the back of the hall asked: "Does this mean that pop quizzes can only improve your grade".
To which he answered, "Now that question is an exception to the rule".
Needless to say, no more questions were asked the rest of the semester.
